Lakeland Orchard and Cidery in Scott Township, PA

Last week, we spent our son’s school break in Pennsylvania. Our daughter drove in from Long Island with her two littles—ages three years and three months—and we all stayed with my sister and brother-in-law. It was one of those wonderful weeks filled with family, kids, laughter, and just the right amount of chaos.
With ages ranging from three months to almost fourteen—not to mention all of us adults—we were looking for an activity everyone could enjoy. Lakeland Orchard & Cidery came highly recommended, so we loaded up the kids, the wagon, the car seats, and what felt like half the house, and made the roughly 45-minute drive.
We could not have picked a better day. The sun was shining, the temperature was in the 70s, and it was absolutely gorgeous outside.
Naturally, our first stop after getting through the ticket line was the bathroom. When you're traveling with kids, you know how this goes.
And I have to give Lakeland credit—the bathrooms were super clean. That alone earns points in my book.
Right next door was a huge swing, which meant we obviously had to stop for the obligatory family pictures before moving on.
Then we found the Corn Box.
This was fantastic.
Imagine a giant ball pit, except instead of plastic balls, it is filled with unpopped corn kernels. If our three-year-old could have stayed in there all day, he absolutely would have. Our 13-year-old had a pretty good time in it, too.
And apparently, some of the corn decided to come home with us.
I'm not going to lie—we were finding kernels in the car, bags, and random places for days afterward.
Lakeland Orchard offers different experiences throughout the year, including apples, strawberries, blueberries, sunflowers, flowers, and more. They also host special events throughout the season, which you can find on their website at www.lakelandorchard.com.
We hopped on a trolley and rode out to the orchard, where we picked our own apples. Afterward, we made our way to the other side of the farm, where there were plenty of activities for the kids.
And I mean plenty.
There was a large bubble area, rubber duck racing, a carousel, jumping areas, and both small and large train rides. There was enough going on that our three-year-old never had a chance to get bored.
The Barnyard was another favorite. They have mini Highland cows, Kunekune pigs, llamas, donkeys, and goats. The animals looked well cared for, the pens were clean, and the kids could feed the animals—which, of course, made the experience even better.
Now, let's talk about the food.
There really was something for everyone: pizza, barbecue chicken, funnel cakes, donuts, and plenty more.
And, of course, cider.
You can't go to an orchard in the fall and skip the cider.
Overall, we were so happy we decided to spend the day at Lakeland Orchard & Cidery. The little kids had fun. The teenager had fun. The adults had fun. The farm was clean, the staff was friendly, and everyone we encountered was incredibly nice.
If you're anywhere near Scott Township, Pennsylvania, I would definitely recommend adding Lakeland Orchard & Cidery to your list—especially if you're looking for something the entire family can enjoy.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go.
I think I see another corn kernel.
