Happy 50th Birthday Mark!

My baby brother would have turned 50 today. In a different world, it would be this chaotic time with our family flying in from out of town, some needing to be a “surprise” for the obvious surprise party we would be planning for him because he would not want to be the center of attention and all the fuss.

He was my baby brother. He was my first friend. We teased each other. We pranked each other. We covered for each other. We loved each other.

We haven’t celebrated his birthday in person since 1997. He is loved and missed in so many ways, but just a little bit more on days like today.
