Dear Megan,

Happy Birthday to my sunshine girl! ☀️

I know we say it to each other often, but I hope you never tire of hearing how much I love you. I am beyond grateful that you moved to North Carolina and that we now have the opportunity to spend more time together. Having you close by is such a gift.

I wish your mom could be here to see the incredible woman you have become. She would be so proud of you. You are intelligent, adventurous, kind, funny, beautiful, creative, and, let’s not forget, an excellent cook!

But beyond all those wonderful qualities, she would be proud of your strength. She would know everything you have endured, the challenges you have overcome, and the courage it has taken to become the beautiful soul you are today. You have every reason to be proud of yourself, too.

I know she would also love the relationship you have with Nicholas. The bond you two share makes my heart so happy. Having you in his life means more to me than I can ever adequately express.

Megan, you are sunshine in human form. You bring warmth, laughter, love, and light into the lives of the people lucky enough to know you.

You are strong.
