Princess Sophie Fluffernutter Sassypants

Our sweet Sophie went to doggie heaven yesterday. She was almost sixteen, and it seems like I should have been prepared, but I am not. I am crushed.

I loved her. I adored her. She was my buddy, my girl.

She was sweet. She was funny. She was tough. She would bat her eyes at you if you said, “Sopheeeeeyyyaaa”. Those pretty brown eyes.

I brought her into our home when I was 8.5 months pregnant. Many people (including my husband) thought I was crazy. Eh, more to love I say. She even had the audacity to be mad at me when I brought Nicholas home. She would not stay in the same room with me for almost a week!

Everyone who met her loved her. She would weasel into your lap and let you pet her or rub her belly for hours. If you stopped for a second though, she’d be on to the next lap.

She was my sweet Sophie Bean. She had so many nicknames, I’m shocked she knew when I was talking to her, but she did.

I know she is running around with the angels. I’m not sure why God thinks it’s a good idea to only give the furry friends to us for such a short time.
